Daniel Blackman for Governor

Georgia's Daniel Blackman has served a distinguished career across a wide range of areas of expertise, from environmental protection leadership in the federal government, to being a lead organizer and advocate with groups like the ACLU, and even community philanthropy.
This experience makes Mr. Blackman well-suited to be elected Governor of Georgia, succeeding Brian Kemp, and ushering a new era for Georgia Democrats. Blackman's vast range of experience equips him to deal with the most pressing issues in Georgia, from green-collar job creation and the climate crisis, to growing maritime industries and aquaculture, expanding healthcare options and services, funding rural public schools, making our local agriculture and food cleaner and healthier, supporting Georgia's manufacturing sector, dislodging rural poverty in the Black Belt, supporting basic freedoms for workers, reversing attacks on voter rights, passing gun safety legislation, and codifying reproductive access again, instead of outlawing it.
Daniel Blackman would represent a historic and noteworthy pick to be elected as Governor of Georgia. Furthermore, it would send a statement to the elites and Big Business that Georgia is not for sale by anyone.
Likewise, should she run, Congresswoman Lucy McBath would similarly offer a compelling case to be Governor as a gun safety advocate who lost her son to gun violence. Her leadership potential is also there, and would send a statement as well to the whole country should she be elected that lives come before profits.
It is time Georgia flips blue to elect a Governor that Georgians can be proud of. I am hopeful one of these two leaders will be able to do it.

Why is this important?
Georgia will be one of the premier battleground states for control of governorships in 2026.
