Declare Corn an Official Allergen

Corn allergies have increased 949.9% in the last 85 months as of July 31, 2020.

Why is this important?

Hospitals/physicians are not required to report food allergy statistics into any state and/or government database. Therefore, it is dangerous and irresponsible for any person, physician, or organization to declare that specific food allergies are rare; e.g., corn. As a result, my state FDA representative encouraged me to track the statistics of one (of many) corn allergy groups as a "sample population." There is an emerging corn allergy crisis.

Reasons for signing

  • Corn is in EVERYTHING! Let’s be able to eat normal again!!
  • My 3 year old is corn allergic, she (along with thousands of others) suffer quality of life issues because we can’t seem to fully escape the corn hiding in literally everything. People hand her stuff if I’m not around because they don’t understand the derivatives and hidden corn. Please, we are begging you to acknowledge us and to help us help ourselves and our children live safely.
  • The number of foods, medications, beauty products, and every day items that contain corn or a corn derivative is shocking. For those of us with corn allergies or sensitivity, we have to spend a tremendous amount of time and effort researching and calling/ emailing manufacturers to see if their products contain corn. It is too much of a burden to be able to live normally and safely. We MUST know when we are consuming it!!
