Decriminalizing the Possession of Marijuana in the City of Fort Myers
"No law enforcement officer acting at the direction or under the authority of the City of Fort Myers shall make any arrests for possession of marijuana under 20 grams. A civil citation shall be issued with a fine of $100. All proceeds from the fines will be placed in a trust fund to benefit youth services in Fort Myers.
Why is this important?
I am starting this Petition to prohibit law enforcement officials within the City of Fort Myers from arresting citizens for the possession of marijuana under 20 grams.
Law enforcement officials should not be arresting citizens resulting in criminal records for possession of marijuana that is legal in the State of Florida for medicinal purposes.
