DEMAND FROM DEMOCRACYNOW!: Why are you ignoring Cynthia McKinney?

Dear Amy Goodman:

Thank you for your progressive reporting on Democracy Now. You have provided an important venue in the U.S. media for progressives of color, from your debate on Manning Marable's recent biography, to your recent conversation with Tavis Smiley and Cornel West.

In light of your incredible coverage of progressives of color, why has your program, Democracy Now, a celebrated "progressive" news source, refused to cover former U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney since her June 1st fact finding mission in Libya? COULD YOU PLEASE REPLY WITH AN EXPLANATION?

Based on my recent August 18th interview with Cynthia McKinney, she revealed how on several occasions you have declined to interview her or her reporters about what they found in Libya. You can hear my interview with her about this issue around 17:30 at the following link:

Why isn't she being heard on your program? You interview progressives of color like Tavis Smiley and Cornel West about poverty in this country, however you have not interviewed Cynthia McKinney who has reported about the root causes of the poverty in this country which are foreign military occupations most recently in Libya, which creates the poverty that Smiley and West lecture about.

Ms. McKinney is one of the many progressives of color who is rendered invisible not only by mainstream media but now by the "progressive" media programs like yours.

We are asking on behalf of myself, Rhone Fraser, for AN EXPLANATION FROM YOU ABOUT YOUR IGNORING OF CYNTHIA MCKINNEY'S FIRST HAND REPORTING OF LIBYA.
