Calling a woman who speaks out and stands up for her community a "cheerleader" is sexist and has no place in our politics. Alma Adams has spent her career fighting for equality and won't be relegated to the sidelines. I stand with Alma and call on Marcus Brandon to apologize for his comments.
Why is this important?
Marcus Brandon has crossed the line. In today’s Charlotte Observer, Marcus is quoted calling me “a cheerleader instead of a legislator.” Comments like Marcus’ are paramount to the sexist culture I’ve dedicated my life to beating back. We cannot let this slide by unnoticed.
