DISCRIMINATION IN SNAP BENEFITS

MAKE MISDEMEANOR AND FELONY DRUG CONVICTED PERSONS ELIGIBLE FOR THE SNAP! THIS PROGRAM IS DISCRIMINATORY! HUNGER IS NOT DISCRIMINATORY! MURDERS, CHILD MOLESTERS, CHILD KILLERS, ROBBERS, THIEVES - BOTH FELON AND MISDEMEANOR CONVICTED - CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE SNAP PROGRAM? WHY AND HOW DOES SNAP DISCRIMINATE AGAINST MISDEMEANOR AND FELON DRUG OFFENDERS MAKING THEM INELIGIBLE?

Why is this important?

SNAP provides financial assistance for purchasing food for no and low income people living in the U.S. Most drug convicted felons are unable to find employment and ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for SNAP based on thier backgrounds. This is highly discriminatory because MURDERERS, CHILD MOLESTERS, CHILD KILLERS, THIEVES AND BANK ROBBERS - ALL WHO ARE FELONS - can receive SNAP! HUNGER IS NOT A CRIME AND IT DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE! The PREDOMINANCE OF DRUG OFFENSE ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR, thus disproportionately affecting an already disenfranchised population. I believe that if you meet the POVERTY GUIDELINES - ANYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT.
