We, the residents of Santa Monica, do not want new parking ordinances reducing the number of parking spaces required in any place in the City. It is density that produces car trips not parking spaces.
Why is this important?
The City of Santa Monica is modifying parking ordinances so that the number of parking spaces required will be reduced significantly. Lack of parking is already negatively impacting businesses and neighborhoods. Increased density in our city is what is creating cars and parking problems, not the number of parking spaces available.
