Do Not Cut Social Security
Say no to President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security by lowering the cost-of-living adjustment for current and future retirees.
Why is this important?
President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs.
If President Obama insists on pushing these cuts, then it's up to Democrats in Congress, including Montana Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus, to say no. But standing up to a president of your own party isn't easy, and Democrats are unlikely to do it unless they hear from constituents.
