Do Not Cut Social Security
This is about President Obama's proposal to change the way cost of living increases are calculated for retirees on Social Security. This terrible idea should be rejected. President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs. Say no to President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security by lowering the cost-of-living adjustment for current and future retirees.
Why is this important?
These cuts will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs.Social Security is not the right place to address the deficit. Tell the President and your fellow members of Congress not to support any cuts in Social Security and not to change the way cost of living increases for retirees are calculated.
