Don't enable Putin's war crimes in Ukraine
We, the undersigned, urgently call upon Mondelez International to withdraw from Russia and support Ukraine in its fight for peace and autonomy. Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention has designated Mondelez as an international sponsor of war due to its continued operations in Russia, indirectly contributing to the Kremlin's war efforts.
Mondelez's initial commitment to scale back non-essential activities in Russia has been contradicted by evidence of increased exports and significant financial gains in the region since the start of the conflict. We urge Mondelez to align its actions with its stated principles and prioritize peace over profit.
Internal employee backlash, including a global petition signed by 1,300 employees, demonstrates the urgent need for the company to do what is morally right. Furthermore, being listed as an international sponsor of war poses significant compliance and reputational risks for Mondelez.
We also call on the Biden administration to issue a US Business Advisory for Russia, urging American businesses to reassess their operations in light of the ongoing conflict. This advisory would emphasize responsible corporate conduct and support Ukraine's pursuit of peace and autonomy.
