We, the City of Homer residents and surrounding community members, petition the City of Homer City Council and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly members to maintain and dedicate the property (Parcel number 17510070) known as the HERC (Homer Education & Recreation Complex), formerly the Boys and Girls Club or the Old Middle School for Recreational, Cultural and Educational purposes as the intended and preferred use for the greater benefit of the community. The facilities, classroom space, gymnasium, green space, skateboard park and basketball court are important and essential to the well being of the community and desired to be preserved, upgraded and use for current and future use for community members of all ages.
