Draft Roy Cooper For US Senate

Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper offers the best opportunity Democrats have in 2026 to unseat Republican Senator Thom Tillis, who recently voted to confirm Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, sided with Trump for years to pass his extreme, oligarchical agenda, and even suggested hand washing is bad for business.
Unlike the career politician and fake populist in Tillis, Governor Cooper is the real deal, as I outlined this past summer when he was being considered for the vice presidential slot on behalf of the national Democratic Party, fighting for workers, championing local agriculture, embracing the growth in manufacturing jobs, protecting the environment, expanding healthcare access, and standing up for voting rights, civil rights, gun safety, reproductive access, law enforcement, and criminal justice reform.
As North Carolina Attorney General, he fought for public records access, accountability to predatory lending, holding environmental polluters to the fire, housing affordability, consumer protection, and support for victims of domestic violence, building from his work as a former state legislator.
Cooper knows the plight of North Carolina's working families who have seen the loss of textile manufacturing jobs and agricultural mechanization. It is why he won by wide margins for reelection as NC Attorney General, and why he outperformed the presidential ticket twice to be elected Governor of North Carolina in 2016 and 2020.
Roy Cooper is the man we need to flip this seat blue. Let's tell him he needs to join in the fray at such a critical juncture in our history.
Why is this important?
North Carolina's Senate seat in 2026 is one of the best opportunities Democrats have to shrinking the GOP's Senate majority, if not help retake it outright.
