Gradual Reopening of the Beauty Industry in NYS
Allow a licensed beauty professional to perform a beauty service, privately with one client, as of May 1st. All necessary precautions and disinfection protocols approved by the NYS Board of Cosmetology will be followed.
Serving one client at a time, while wearing appropriate safety gear, poses a lesser risk of spreading the virus, as compared to other community industries that are currently open for business.

Why is this important?
Independent Beauty Professionals rely on the income from clients. We cannot perform a haircut online. While the “beauty industry is deemed “Non essential”, the ability to practice our craft is very ESSENTIAL to our livelihood. Allowing the industry to slowly ease back into operation is a low risk, high reward action.
