Eliminate Food Stamp abuse
Food stamp caseworkers must verify housing and income presented to landlords prior to granting food stamps to the applicant. Income statements to caseworkers and landlords must be verified as the same amount prior to award if eligible.
Why is this important?
There is rampant food stamp abuse in this country because our goverment employees who grant them do not verify income to the required extent. Every self-employed person I've ever met has the ability to make their income as close to zero with no scrutiny. Conversely, these same people, many of whom are renters, have to prove that they make enough income in order to obtain housing. Every person that applies for food stamps should have to provide their landlord's contact info so that a nexus can be made between the two incomes reported to the different entities. This may in fact provide a bit of extra work for the food stamp case workers and landlords, but I believe every taxpayer in America providing for themselves would support the extra effort. I would and I am a property manager who sees abuse of food stamps, section 8 assistance, bogus disability awards, and the list goes on.
