End Meat Subsidies For Our Health and For Our Environment!

The artificially low prices of meat and animal products are possible thanks to the federal government's subsidies--from taxpayer money--given to meat and dairy producers.

The annual government-managed “checkoff” spending for meat and dairy is $557 million, while the budget to promote fruits and vegetables is $51 million.

The artificially low prices have driven the consumption of animal products to increase 6 fold since the 1920s, and are projected to rise ninety-five percent if it continues to go unregulated.

To change this flawed system, not only should people reduce their demand for animal products, but also our policymakers must choose to support an economic system that incentivizes healthier choice and sustainability above meat lobby interest groups.

Please sign our petition if you believe that we can revolutionize our food system to the benefit of our shared environment and peoples’ health!
