Fight for $15 in Texas
Texans deserve a raise. The federal minimum wage hasn't increased in over a decade, and it's time to stop waiting on Washington to get things done. Texas should take care of Texans, and raise the minimum wage to $15.00/hour by 2024.
Why is this important?
"The economy is GREAT", they say.
"The market is GROWING", they say.
And it is... but only for the people at the top. Do YOU own any stock? Maybe have investments in real estate? No? Then the gains realized by this 'booming, growing' market aren't for you. Wages for the working class have stagnated, causing Texans to take on two or three jobs to make ends meet. For people making minimum wage, the situation is dire. A full-time, minimum wage job brings in $15,080 a year. Before taxes. No one can live in dignity with that kind of income! Texas cannot wait for Washington to get this done; we must act now. Raise the minimum wage to $15.00/hour by 2024!
