Free parking in dover for local employees

Many employees in Dover work for minimum wage and are forced to park on the street and pay. With dover becoming more crowded and pricing going up for parking it is becoming nearly unaffordable for some of those who work in downtown. Parking adds up to thousands in a year for those who work full time. Other options of getting parking permits for lots off of the downtown are unrealistic often because the walk is too far, especially for those who work at night and must walk in the dark. It is too dangerous and uncomfortable to be forced into this as a young person myself. These permits on the lower end are $20-$30 a month, which comes out to $240-$360 a year in parking that employees should not have to pay for. We want more respect as the employees helping the local businesses of dover stay running. Some of us who work for small businesses are working hard for not very much money. We want free parking after the thousands of dollars we have already paid to the city over time.

Why is this important?

We deserve more respect as the employees of small businesses in dover. We want free parking because of the work we do to keep the local businesses of dover running.
