Freedom for the 1.5 million people of Gaza and Occupied Palestinian Territories

Whereas, since 1948 and the Nakba in Palestine, it has been the policy of Israel to drive the Palestinians out of their homes and villages and take their land.
Whereas, During the final month of George W. Bush’s Administration ending January 2009, the Israeli military attack on Gaza resulted more than 1400 Palestinian deaths, 400 of them children.
Whereas, The United Nations Human Rights Council investigated this attack in 2009 and issued what is referred to as the Goldstone Report. The United States House of Representatives by HR 867 on the 23rd of October 2009 voted to oppose unequivocally any endorsement or further consideration of the ‘‘Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict’’ …
Whereas, “The United States Foreign Assistance Act stipulates that no aid may be provided to a country that engages in a consistent pattern of violations of international human rights laws.”
Whereas, PM Netanyahu and Israel’s Likud Party are disingenuous about their intensions for a future Palestinian State and are continuing their illegal settlement expansion and colonization of the Occupied Territories that is preventing any real negotiations.

Whereas, Zionists in Israel and in United States seek to block discussion and debate concerning Israel’s 46 years of military occupation.

Whereas, the United States Government has become under the excessive influence of Israeli agents and is spending billions on Israel’s military occupation every year and is no longer acting in the best interests of Americans.

Be it resolved, that the People of the United States have every right to expect Israel to respect international laws and agreements made to the State Department under The United States Foreign Assistance Act.

Be it resolved, since the continued expansion of Jewish settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territory is preventing the resumption of peace talks, the State Department and Congress should stop funding Israel’s military occupation until all settlement activity is suspended and there is a comprehensive agreement with the Palestinians for a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders.

Why is this important?

Our tax money is used to support Israel's military occupation and colonization of the Occupied Palestinian Territories and the imprisonment of 1.5 million people of Gaza.
