Funding For Treatment For Addicts And Families of Addicts In New Hampshire

New Hampshire has the least treatment centers per capita than any other state in the USA. Addiction is a disease and requires treatment. Waiting lists and lack of funding for our unisured addicts makes access to treatment almost impossible here in NH. Funding for more treatment centers and resources for addicts and family members of addicts is desperately needed to ensure recovery for all. Prison is not the answer.

Why is this important?

New Hampshire Addicts are denied access to treatment on a daily basis. They are put on endless waiting lists and this is inhumane. Addiction is a disease and should be treated as such. Resources for Addicts and their family members is almost non existent here in NH. Prisons are overflowing with addicts, and yet there are no programs for treatment in place. I am the mother of a recovering addict and an advocate for all whom this disease has touched.
