Gavin Newsom: Meet EUHC4CA about The Single Payer Planning Commission
Gavin Newsom, stop stonewalling, and meet with Enact Universal Healthcare for California about appointments to The Single Payer Planning Commission, ASAP. 15 minutes, anytime & anywhere is all we're asking.
Why is this important?
Enact Universal Healthcare for California is a non-profit with over 115,000 Californian supporters. It sponsored The Single Payer Planning Commission which was signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown in June. If elected as next governor of California, Gavin Newsom will have three appointments. EUHC4CA has been asking for a meeting since August. It is now October. The Commission starts January 1st. We are asking for at least a 15 minute meeting, anytime & anywhere.
We already had meetings with Senate President Pro-Tem Toni Atkins' and Speaker Anthony Rendon's offices who have one appointment each to the Commission.
Unfortunately, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom's office has been stonewalling EUHC4CA. Derision, laughter, hangups, deleted emails, refusal to take notes, bogus email addresses, fake names (2 Samanthas and 3 Mollys so far), and general amnesia. Gavin says he is for Single Payer, but his staff does not share the same vision.
With this petition, we hope that Gavin Newsom will finally meet with us about this very important commission, and counsel his staff on how to be more professional and treat people with respect.
