Albert Winton is a 91-year-old highly decorated veteran of the Marines, where he served from 1945-52. He rose to the rank of sergeant, but due to the prevalent racism of the time, was never promoted; we believe that he should retroactively receive his rank today.
Why is this important?
This man served his country with unwavering courage, even at a time when he was discriminated against based on the color of his skin. Our great country is capable of giving him his rank retroactively, and we believe this should happen soon.
