Gov. Michael Parson: Free Johnson & Strickland!

Kevin Strickland was wrongly convicted of a triple murder in 1979. Lamar Johnson was wrongly convicted of a separate murder in 1994. Both have received sentences of life without parole. Despite the real killers having pled guilty and now serving their time, with their prosecutors and defense attorneys in agreement of their wrongful convictions, both men remain in prison due to a MO. statute that states they have "run out of appeals", despite false and perjured evidence as well as their subsequent proof of innocence. Gov. Parson granted 54 pardons in June 2021, which did not include pardons to Mr. Strickland or Mr. Johnson, who have spent most all of their adult lives wrongfully imprisoned. These two innocent men deserve to be pardoned immediately and released from prison!

Why is this important?

According to criminallegalnews.org, Blacks are overrepresented at every level of the criminal justice system but nowhere more so than in the percentage of known wrongful convictions. As of 2016, Blacks, who comprise less than 13% of the population of the U.S., account for 47% of the exonerations listed in the National Registry of Exonerations.
Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson are two of many incarcerated men who deserve exoneration, through pardons by Gov. Parson, for crimes they did not commit. Gov. Parson can also be contacted by phone (573)751-3222, FAX 751-1495 or at www.facebook.com/GovMikeParson. An excellent summary of these cases can be found on CBS Sunday link:
