Governor Bryant and House Speaker Gunn let the MS Legislature Debate Medicaid Expansion

Let's debate the bill! The Governor says he doesn't want to put the House through "a long and divisive debate" on expansion be cause he believes the bill has little chance of passing. This bill would expand Medicaid coverage in Mississippi from the current income cut off of $5,500 to $15,000 and give health coverage to more of the poorest Mississippians.

This bill at the very least deserves a debate on the floor regardless of whether it will pass or not. The potential for creation of new health care jobs and health coverage for poorer Mississippians with an expansion of Medicaid is at the very least worth a debate.

Make the Governor, the House Speaker and the House GOP bring the bill out of committee so a debate can be had and all Mississippians can hear why/why not this expansion should or shouldn't take place from the mouths of those we chose to represent us.

Why is this important?

We want the Mississippi Legislature to revive the Medicaid Bill that is currently being blocked in committee so that it can come to the floor for debate and a vote.
