Governor Wolf, It's Past Time to Ban Fracking

Four years ago, the PA Democratic state committee voted in favor of a resolution calling for a statewide moratorium on fracking. Since then, an avalanche of peer-reviewed studies, a series of regulatory failures, and, most important, profound impacts on Pennsylvanians and our natural resources have demonstrated that a moratorium isn't needed. We don't need to take the time to study how bad fracking is. We know exactly how bad fracking is. Since the vote, we've also learned just how much fracking is contributing to the biggest problem we face -- climate change. Governor Wolf, we the undersigned demand that you ban fracking now!
Why is this important?
Four years ago, my organization, Berks Gas Truth, led a statewide campaign to pressure the members of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party's state committee to vote in favor of a moratorium on fracking written by Susan Lyons of the Monroe County delegation. The resolution passed 115 - 81, but party leaders were critical of the vote and ignored the resolution. Four years later, we know much more than we knew then.
