Plans to reconstruct this key intersection in Wayzata should be halted to allow input from interested residents and businesses and proper weight and consideration given to the concerns of these constituents.
The plan for the reconstruction of the intersection as reflected in "Option 2" in not in the best interest of local residents or businesses. The undersigned individuals prefer proposed "Option 1" or, alternatively, request exploration of a better plan that:
- encourages the flow of business traffic down Superior Ave,
- designs a safer intersection at Benton Ave., and
- calms traffic speeds on Wayzata Blvd.
Why is this important?
I am concerned about the city’s plan to move forward with reconstruction of the Wayzata Blvd. and Superior Ave. intersection to direct business traffic down Wayzata Blvd to Broadway rather than down Superior Ave. to the new commercial district.
