We the citizens and community members of Lane County and surrounding areas express our support to see a Housing First pilot program implemented here within our local region. In addition to extensive data that points to the long-term outcomes related to reducing chronic homelessness, research also proves that a Housing First model is significantly cost-saving while in addition increases self-sustainability among the formerly homeless.
I encourage you to support HB 3420 while asking that you act urgently to engage in this matter, for our community's most vulnerable are at stake. Let's work together at eliminating chronic homelessness. Thank you.
