Impeach President Donald Trump to Protect Democracy, Public Health, and the Rule of Law

To the United States Congress:

We, the undersigned, call upon Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump for actions and policies that we believe endanger the American people, weaken democratic institutions, and undermine protections that generations of Americans fought to secure.

Americans are deeply concerned by attacks on environmental safeguards, including efforts to weaken oversight and regulation surrounding dangerous contaminants such as PFAS “forever chemicals,” which threaten our drinking water and public health. We are alarmed by decisions that prioritize political interests and corporate influence over the safety and well-being of citizens.

Many Americans are also deeply concerned by escalating military conflict with Iran and fear being  in another costly and dangerous war without clear public support or adequate congressional debate. The American people are exhausted by endless foreign conflicts that risk American lives, strain the economy, increase global instability, and divert attention from urgent problems here at home. Decisions involving military action must be transparent, constitutional, and accountable to the citizens who bear the consequences.

We are further alarmed by growing reports of aggressive immigration enforcement actions carried out by ICE that have resulted in injuries, deaths, family separations, and widespread fear within communities across the country. Americans expect law enforcement agencies to operate with transparency, restraint, and respect for constitutional rights and human dignity. Numerous incidents involving excessive force, controversial detentions, and deaths connected to immigration operations have intensified public concern and eroded trust in federal leadership. Congress must investigate whether this administration’s policies and directives have contributed to dangerous abuses of power and violations of civil liberties.

We are also concerned by actions that have increased national division, eroded public trust in government, disregarded constitutional norms, and placed unnecessary strain on both domestic stability and international relations. Millions of Americans feel unheard, unprotected, and exhausted by leadership that appears increasingly disconnected from the needs of ordinary people.

Impeachment is a constitutional mechanism intended to hold leaders accountable when their conduct threatens the nation, its institutions, or the public trust. Congress has a duty to investigate credible concerns and act in defense of democracy, transparency, public safety, and the Constitution.

We urge members of Congress to put country over party and begin formal impeachment proceedings immediately.

The American people deserve accountable leadership, clean water, honest government, and a future built on integrity—not fear, division, and deregulation that places lives at risk.
