Instruct Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Not To Cut Social ...
We demand that you stand with the 98% majority of American Citizens by allowing the Bush tax rates to expire for the wealthiest 2% and extend tax cuts to the vast majority of the citizenry who will likely spend the money to stimulate the economy.
End corporate welfare in the form or loopholes in the tax laws which allow multinational corporations like Exxon and GE to pay no taxes.
In addition we demand that any so called "Fiscal Cliff" deal not include cuts to Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security.

Why is this important?
Yesterday President Obama made an offer to Republican John Boehner to cut Social Security benefits and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%.
According to the Washington Post (December 17, 2012) these cuts in Social Security would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by." For many retirees this would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities.
The good news is that many senators have promised to oppose Social Security cuts in any deficit reduction package. If Senator Landrieu and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hear from enough of their constituents, we can still get the Senate to reject this proposal and protect Social Security.
