International Civil Rights Center & Museum

We are asking the members of the Greensboro City Council to support the funding request of the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. We recognize the vitally important role the museum plays in educating a whole new generation of citizens on the struggles of the past, present, and future. We believe the mission of the museum is an important one and deserves city support.

Why is this important?

The International Civil Rights Center and Museum (ICRCM) is a Historic landmark, promoting an understanding of the struggles for equality, justice, and freedom in the United States and across the world. ICRCM is located in the former F.W. Woolworth building the site of the 1960 lunch counter sit-in protest against racially segregated eating accomodations. ICRCM is seeking funding support from the City of Greensboro for operating expenses to carry on this vital work.
