Why did 6 Republican Senators and 1 Republican Representative travel to Russia, on the 4th of July to discuss meddling when Russia denied it even happened? What was really discussed

Why is this important?

Because I don’t trust anything they say. Why would they travel all the way to Russia to discuss something that Putin and Russia denies even took place? We know they helped Trump right after he asked them to! The very same day he publicly implored Russia to interfere!
