James Talarico for US Senate

Despite the valiant efforts to unseat Ted Cruz, Colin Allred lost his Senate bid in 2024 by 8.5 points.
Democrats need a strong candidate capable of winning over voters we have lost in recent years in order to take John Cornyn's critical seat in 2026 and flip the United States Senate back from the Republicans.
With Ken Paxton as the frontrunner in the GOP primary, Democrats do have a viable chance to retake this seat with a talented, hardworking candidate who follows and expands upon the Beto O'Rourke 2018 campaign playbook. That candidate is State Rep. James Talarico.
Talarico is an effective lawmaker, having been named one of the Top 10 legislators in the state by Texas Monthly magazine. As a type 1 diabetic, he led his fellow colleagues to push for insulin caps and lower prescription drug costs to make healthcare more affordable for Texans. He elevated his voice and others to advocate for fairer public education funding, a compassionate and equal criminal justice system that gives opportunity to rehabilitated youth, and to lower the expensive costs of childcare and housing.
But there's more. James Talarico is an educator and a pastor not afraid to quote Scripture to showcase the best of Democratic Party working class values. He has used it to call out the Project 2025 agenda, bring awareness to voter suppression laws in Texas, and explain the hypocrisy of putting the Ten Commandments in schools, even for non-Christians.
Texas is not an easy state to flip. But if there's one Democrat who is capable of doing it, it is James Talarico.

Why is this important?
Texas Democrats need a candidate who can appeal to Black and Brown working class voters, and all working class voters for that matter. With his religious faith and background, I have no doubt James Talarico is capable of doing that. Read the Politico article written on him in 2023 (I think).
