Robeson County, NC sits on the Cumberland-Marlboro basin that expands through Scotland, Hoke, Cumberland, and Sampson county; now oil industries want to begin fracking (a process to extract oil) and build a pipeline. Fracking and leaking pipelines have been known to damage water systems, and lead to serious health issues, along with creating environmental issues and earthquakes.
Why is this important?
From the research I have done, I have learned that fracking and leaking pipelines have damaged water systems and has been linked to serious health and environmental issues. I do not want to see my family, friends, and people within this community suffer from serious consequences caused by the oil industry. Let's let the White House, Congress, NC Governor, NC House and Senate know we are putting up a fight to keep our county and state fracking and pipeline free!
