Keep Kerry in the Senate

With the withdrawal of Rice for consideration for the position of Secretary of State, there is now strong backing for Senator John Kerry to fill that position. According to reports, he should ease through the process of confirmation. Republicans back his nomination - of course they do. With Kerry gone from the Senate, it now gives the Republicans a chance to fill the Senate position with one of their own and thereby increase their numbers. This petition urges President Obama to keep Kerry in the Senate where his vote is crucial.
