Keep Maryland in Charge of Protecting the Chesapeake Bay!
A bill proposed by Republicans in Congress would strip Maryland of its authority to hold hydropower dam owners accountable for Chesapeake Bay water quality violations and end critical protections for its fish and wildlife. If Maryland doesn’t fight back, these energy corporations would also charge state taxpayers for the damage they cause!
Join me in defending Maryland's authority to fight against these threats to the Bay, and prevent corporations from sticking state taxpayers with the bill to repair water quality damage!

Why is this important?
Maryland and its economy depend on a healthy Chesapeake Bay. But water quality threats from big corporations continue to endanger America’s largest estuary system.
Right now, Maryland has the authority to negotiate corporate licenses to protect the Chesapeake Bay and the livelihoods and ecosystems it supports. Special interests would like to change that.
As Marylanders, let’s remain in charge of protecting our Chesapeake Bay, our clean water, and our endangered species.
Add your name and join me in telling Congress to reject this bill!
