Keep Our Sayville Kids Safe
Give our kids a bus to and from school. 1 1/2 miles is too far for children to walk to school, especially when they have to cross main roads without a crossing guard. Not all Sayville households have two parents, one of whom stays at home, in order to drive their children to a from school. Not all households have grandparents or in-laws living with them that can help with transportation. Parent, like myself, that need to work have to beg and plead to other parents to transports their children. The buses in Sayville School District are driving around more than half empty, while the traffic on Johnson for the drop off is back up for a mile. The buses are already on the road and passing these other areas, give our kids a bus stop!
Why is this important?
We need to keep our children safe and allow ourselves the ability to be able to work. In light of the Sayville Motor Inn raid and the shooting that took place while I was driving my son to school, it is unsafe for our kids to be walking a mile and a half to school with this going on in our community.
