Do not let large corporations like Verizon and Comcast line their pockets by selling "Fast Lane" internet speeds. I'm not talking about your provider connection, but actually giving priority internet speed to people who pay more for it, and slowing the average user down. Non-profits, average people and even emergency services could be devastated. Keep the Net Neutral!
Why is this important?
I am the Public Information Officer for our Volunteer Fire Department, and we are very pro-active using social media not only to inform the public of everyday events but also when we know if serious weather is imminent to our area, routes to avoid during emergencies and Amber Alerts. This is done using my own personal Internet provider. This could be detrimental and could possibly cost lives!
