The recent brushfires in Australia have put already-imperiled koala bears in even greater dangerer. Please enact the Koala Protection Act to protect the habitats and trees that are vital to koalas as well as to protect koalas from hunting.
Why is this important?
Koala bears have declined by an estimated 80 percent since 1995 due to habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. The recent brushfires in Australia have dealt another blow to this reeling population.
The Koala Protection Act would protect koalas by safeguarding the trees that they rely upon and by strengthening regulations to block the destruction of koala habit.Koalas need our help to survive.
Please ask Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to enact the Koala Protection Act into law.
