LCBoS: Don't Kill Metro Rail to Loudoun

Don’t kill Metro Rail to Loudoun County!

Now is not the time to be shortchanging the county's residents and voters on the fundamental infrastructure improvements that define one of the primary roles of government. And now is not the time to be passing the buck, blaming the federal government, the state government, or union leadership.

Now is the time to lead. Now is the time to perform your civic and elected duty. Now is the time to look beyond the next election to those living in Loudoun County 10, 15, 20 years down the road. Do you honestly believe that the quality of life will improve in Loudoun if rail is hung out to dry?

While I know plenty of people who've moved to Loudoun over the years, I know just as many who've become frustrated and disenchanted with the county's elected leadership and its unwillingness to plan for the long term and look at the big picture.

This is an opportunity to change that trend and act in the county's generational wellbeing. Committing to or killing Metro rail in Loudoun county: one of those will be your legacy. I sincerely hope you pick the former.

With thanks for your time and consideration,

Why is this important?

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is strongly considering killing Metro Rail's planned phase II expansion into Loudoun County. As one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, Loudoun deserves, Loudoun needs, a transportation infrastructure that serves its residents and the businesses it hopes to attract. We're asking you to write the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and let them know: we want Metro Rail in Loudoun County!
