LET JOSH LEAD - Josh Green for Governor

We are in the middle of a medical crisis that will last many months and requires knowledgeable, competent leadership.

This is the moment to let Lt.Gov. Josh Green take over the governorship. He is a celebrated doctor. He worked in Africa on the AIDS and Malaria epidemics and in the emergency room. He was named “Hawaii Physician of the Year”.

I don't know him personally, but he is believable and trusted. When there are tough decisions to make, people will be more inclined to follow his orders since they come from his medical experience. That will help to let the situation not get out of hand.

Gov. Ige, thank you for your service all these years, but please resign and let Josh Green take over as governor.

Why is this important?

Hawai’i is facing a medical emergency and very tough choices have to be made. The population is not sure what to do and has gotten a lot of disinformation. This is the time for strong and competent leadership. It is a miracle that our Lt.Governor is a doctor. People will trust him to lead us through this pandemic.

It is becoming clearer every day that we will have a complete shutdown of the islands. We can see it in China, Italy, New York and San Francisco. The streets are empty and the nonessential businesses are closed. Other islands, like Bali are shutting off tourism. The only regret all these places have is not to have had the shutdown earlier. Every day it is delayed costs thousands of lives.

When the governor calls for a shutdown he will be under attack from all sides. People’s livelihoods are at stake and they will resist and doubt his knowledge of the matter. They won't do that if the governor is an experienced physician.

Thousands of lives are a stake.

(I am writing this petition as my private, personal opinion out of great concern for the people of Maui and Hawai'i. I have not discussed this petition with anyone else, especially not Josh Green, who I only know from his website).
