Let teachers carry in Louisiana
Today our children got to come home to begin summer vacation. 18 babies did not get to do so yesterday in Texas. We absolutely need things to change because it CAN happen to our children. Mental illness is just not addressed in this country and with the state of the economy things will continue to get worse. I am not willing to sacrifice my children’s lives as I fought too hard for them to be with me and on this earth. Teachers should absolutely be armed at this point. Would you send a police officer into the streets without being armed? Teachers should NOT be scared for their lives anymore. They are not first responders and definitely don’t get paid enough to take bullets with no protection. I urge you to change the law. Any teacher that is willing to put themselves in front of our children and lose their lives should have the option to defend themselves and go home to their families. If we will not arm the schools with officers, let us handle the evil that is bound to come our way.
Why is this important?
Everyone always says ,” It will not happen to me!” and yet with every passing day we lose children and teachers to the mental illness of others. If it is so easy for these monsters to access weapons shouldn’t our schools protect our children from them? I beg that you sign this petition so that we may see a change and never have to experience the tragedy that continues around us.
