To: President Donald Trump, The United States House of Representatives, and The United States Senate
LET’S LOOK AT CUTTING ENTITLEMENTS – FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS!
LET’S LOOK AT CUTTING ENTITLEMENTS – FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS!
They are entitled to government funded
Salaries starting at about $175,000
Annual cost of living increases -- not based on performance evaluations or even showing up to work
They are entitled to government funded
Allowances (averaging $1,446, 009 for representatives and $3,206,825 for senators in 2011) to pay for office expenses and to hire staff who read bills for them, research topics for them, write speeches for them….
They are entitled to government funded
Nicely furnished offices
Travel allowances
Mailing expenses
They have been entitled to be in session an average of 162 days a year for the last 11 years and recently voted to have a week off for every two weeks worked.
They are apparently entitled to block legislation -- for purely political reasons -- that would benefit those they represent.
The vast majority of citizens can’t imagine a working situation as entitled as our representatives and senators enjoy. Most members of Congress will never worry a day over health care or a comfortable retirement. But they want to cut the entitlements – Medicare and Social Security – that senior citizens contributed to for years, partially pay for now and depend on.
Ask your Congress members to consider ‘WHO ARE THE TRULY ENTITLED?’

Why is this important?
When Congress is considering cutting entitlements it seems fair that we look at their entitlements.
