Sign this petition to stop President Obama and Senate Democrats from chaining the Consumer Price Index (C.P.I) to inflation, effectively reducing Social Security benefits. Seniors spend most of their income on medical care, which is rapidly rising with no end in sight.

Why is this important?
The Social Security trust fund has been decreasing not because there are fewer workers for each retiree, but due to the fact that the money current retirees paid into the system was used for government projects. What happened to the "in trust" part of the equation, and the lock box where the money was to be kept away from wasteful spending by presidents and congress people over decades.
