MA Lawmakers: Fight for Syrian Refugee Resettlement

President Obama and the administration have pledged to help at least 10,000 refugees next year, but this is simply not enough. Courageous European counterparts have pledged to help more than 10-50 times that number. With the proper allocation of resources, we can maintain our own national security while providing the life security our country has always promised to those in need.

Why is this important?

It has been estimated that more than half of Syria’s 23 million people have had to leave their homes due to the ever-growing conflict devastating their country. Of this number, at least 4 million are currently listed as refugees and these people – men and women, children and grandparents – are in desperate search of safety and a new home. As one of the wealthiest and stablest countries in the world, it is our responsibility to help and lead by example.
