Please respect the will of Burlington voters and the resolution passed by the Burlington City Council to send a letter to the Secretary of the Air Force requesting a replacement for the F-35 basing at Burlington International Airport with a safe and less noisy alternative that is more suitable for a densely populated area. Please sign the City Council’s resolution that was passed (9 to 3) on 3/26/18 regarding this issue.
Why is this important?
The Air Force says F-35 basing will harm children and elderly in thousands of families and will pose high crash danger. The livability of thousands of affordable homes is at risk. The Air Force says any number of alternatives is available for Burlington. Low-noise-level equipment with a proven high safety record will be very good for Burlington and for surrounding cities and towns. The resolution respects the will of the voters. I urge you to join the council in respecting the will of the voters.
