Please work to expand Medicaid in Indiana. The Affordable Care Act is not perfect, but is SO much better than thousands going without health care or having to declare bankruptcy due to medical bills.
Why is this important?
A year later, I am still paying for a dental crown, even with some, but inadequate insurance. A hospitalization or surgery can bankrupt a family. We can't afford as a culture to neglect the working poor. As a former teacher, I have seen the effects of healthcare neglected in little children who just can't learn due to chronic coughs, lack of meds, etc. We as a culture must do better!
