Mental Illnesses Should be Incorporated into the Definition of a Disability

Mental illnesses should be incorporated into the definition of a disability because when it impairs performance and negatively affects a person’s daily activities, mental illness qualifies as a disability. In and of itself, mental illness is not a limitation. However, psychiatric disorders are a subset of mental health impairments.

Why is this important?

Mental illness and disabilities are big issues that are not talked about enough. People should join me in my campaign for change because mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression can effect a person's daily life.
