Mini urban farms in city parks

I would like to propose setting aside small sections of park areas for the creation of mini community urban farms or gardens in city parks.

Why is this important?

The food desert in inner cities would be eliminated, recreaction for children and adults in urban areas could much enhanced by exposure to growing of fruits, vegetables and greens that are currently only seen as packaged food in grocery stores. The City Park and Recreation Department needs to change its focus from traditional lawn, play area maintainence, to stimulating the minds of young children, by exposing them to growing the food they eat. This would be a wonderful activity for those who would love to garden but have no access to land.
