Mississippi Hazard Pay for Teachers
Teachers have been on the frontline since the beginning of Covid-19. We've been asked to perform more tasks, as if we needed more responsibilities. We are now teaching virtually as well as traditionally. We are expected to show up EVERY DAY with a smile on our face (for our kids' sake) and perform our duties. Our students are being quarantined daily in mass numbers, so we are exposed on a daily basis. Some of us have indeed succumbed to this virus. We need the state of Mississippi to show they "care" about us (teachers).
Why is this important?
Other people should join in this campaign because teachers affect EVERYONE from our students to the parents to the state as a whole. We are on the frontline doing what we have to do and should be commended and compensated for our efforts.
