NAACP should not support the MAGLEV

The Maryland NAACP and the Prince George's County Chapter of the NAACP should not support the MAGLEV. The construction of the MAGLEV will have negative effects on communities of color, will result in the taking of people's property and property rights and does not create as many jobs as they think it will create.

Why is this important?

The residents of Prince George's County are shocked and surprised to see the Maryland NAACP and the local Prince George's County Chapter of the NACCP support the construction of the MAGLEV. The project will not create 74,000 construction jobs as they like to claim. It may not also create 1500 permanent jobs because of technological innovation and automation.

The proposed routes will travel through communities of color such as Bladensburg, Beacon Heights, Laurel, Riverdale, Hyattsville, Greenbelt, Beltsville, Brentwood, and Lanham.
