No cuts for Social Security!

President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs.

If President Obama insists on pushing these cuts, then it's up to Democrats in Congress, including North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan, to say no. But standing up to a president of your own party isn't easy, and Democrats are unlikely to do it unless they hear from constituents.

So sign this petition telling Senator Hagan that YOU want her to say NO to President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security by lowering the cost-of-living adjustment for current and future retirees.

Why is this important?

My mother is on Social Security. She worked ALL of her adult life as a single mom well into retirement and now after paying into a system that PROMISED she would see a SUBSTANTIAL return on her investment to help her in her Golden years AND that it would increase as inflation increases. That is the promise we all THOUGHT was in place when we see that SS money taken out of our hard earned paychecks!
